Description According to legend, the Sun Ferry Islands were once a desolate place that had no civilized life and very little appeal to it. Four hundred years ago, it's said that a wandering wood spirit made it's way across the ocean, seeking solace from a war that had been going on for over a thousand years. The drifter found the islands and made them it's home. The creature actually manipulated the weather to make it a warm and welcoming place, and the islands soon became a place where all kinds of creatures could come and seek refuge from their troubles, eventually becoming a great tourist attraction.

The tale of the wood spirit soon became local superstition. The islands remained the same - though peoples came and went. Civilizations were settled, and a new project began on the islands: a biodome. It was a very secret project, one that no-one seemed to know about, or who was heading it, or even how the funds were coming in. The biodome featured five different sections, each one stretching out in every direction for five miles per section. Different creatures, sentient and non-sentient, were welcomed inside once it was completed. Different races and animals from all over the world were given refuge from the wars there.

One thing seemed to remain constant throughout the hundreds of years - the benefactor and lone architect of this project, one Mimosa Palm. Even today, the locals don't know where he came from, just that he'd always been. Of course, the locals don't care, either. Mimosa Palm's presence was just something that was accepted. He took care of the islanders, he cared for all living creatures, and as far as they knew, he was ageless and limitless in his capacity for compassion.

One day, a change came. A change in the winds, something that Mimosa hadn't sensed since he'd left Equestria some four hundred years ago. A ship had brought a nymph on it, and Mimosa was overjoyed when he felt that it was a nymph he knew - one of his last remaining daughters, Ampelus herself. He'd abandoned her and her pregnant mother during the changeling wars, a long, grating battle that left the dryads and nymphs so hopelessly outnumbered that they'd been thought to have gone extinct. The reunion was completely unexpected on both parts, but it wouldn't last long, for that very night things would change so drastically that nothing on the islands would ever be the same.
