You scowled, limping along as you relied on the brick walls of the passing stores to keep you upright. Your leg throbbed like crazy and your good leg was starting to give from exertion.

“(Name)cchi!”

You almost toppled over. “Kise?”

Of course, that ever-famous teen with the perfect blonde hair and the knock-em’-dead smile was running after you with a bright dorky grin. He waved at you wildly, as if you weren't looking right at him.

“Kise...what're you doing here?”

“I was at Magi Burger with some friends when I saw you pass by. What're you doing here so late?” He prodded, gently touching your hand, concern in his eyes as his gaze flickered to your wounded leg.

“I'm just walking home,” you grit your teeth and looked away, “From...my study...group.”

Kise looked alarmed, “(Name)...” He said, his voice laced with an alarming amount of worry, “Your study group ends at 5:45…”

“Yeah, so?” You grunted.

“It's 7:14!” He balked, stepping closer. “What happened?!”

You scowled. “Really Kise, you’re worrying too much.” You groaned.

Kise merely replied with a huff of exasperation. “Not that bad?! It's been well over an hour! Almost two! You don't even-.”

“I got hit by a car, okay?!” You snapped. “They weren't going very fast...and-.”

“Can you feel it? Is it numb?” Kise interrupted.

“I can't put pressure on it. It won't...I-.”

“Say no more!” Kise gave you a bright smile and in one fluid motion he had lifted you into his arms. “I'll carry you home then.”

You squawked, “What the hell?! Put me down!”

“But-!”

“You'll drop me!”

You stared as Kise suddenly burst out laughing. His mirth was loud and uncontainable.

“I won't drop you (Name)cchi! I'm much stronger than you seem to think. Promise!” He flashed you a bright smile.

True to his word, Kise made it the whole way home without dropping you. He didn't even break a sweat after you gave him permission to jog just to move things along.

You felt sick to your stomach. You had somehow managed to grossly underestimate someone you cared about...at an unacceptable level no less. But he wasn't even mad. He was kind enough to help you to bed, helped you change, brought you tea, and even laid with you awhile. Throughout the whole ordeal a bright smile had stayed on his face.

“I was so wrong…” You admitted softly as he laid there with you.

Kise raised a brow, “Hm? What do you mean? (Name)cchi?”

“You are much stronger than I took you for. Reliable too...I'm sorry for not trusting you…” You lowered your gaze, opting to fiddle with your nails instead.

To your surprise, Kise pecked your cheek. “I'm not mad, you know. Thank you.”
