Description
Most people associate beach with seashells, crabs, sea urchins or starfish. And yet you can find insects of all sorts there, like for instance this dune chafer (Anomala dubia), or metallic chafer as it's known to us Czechs, that was having real trouble staying in one spot, because it was incredibly windy day. That made shooting incredibly difficult with sand getting into my eyes and camera equipment, my new focusing rails in particular has turned into sand grinder for a moment. And don't get me started on any potential subject being blown away just as I was about to photograph it. We did eventually find a dead air region, where I shot two clown beetles. But that was the only truly unpleasant shooting experience I had the whole week.
