As the name suggests the Triage Division is the Administration medical core. The bureaucratic culture of backstabbing political maneuvering has lead to most Administration members, both civilian, leadership, and military, to adopt a strategy of personnel survival above all else. This means that medical personnel are a rare breed. Most either remain in the lower ranks like a factory worker or a skull cap trooper and try not to be noticeable, or try to climb the ranks. Those that do become doctors usually fall into two categories. First are the ones who ensure their survival by making themselves useful. These guys usually compete to either become medical directors of entire settlements, specialists in surgery or diseases, and most sought after is to be a personnel doctor to an Administrator. All of that so they will be well treated for their unique and vital services.
The second and rarer type of doctor, are those who genuinely wish to help. They become doctors and usually stay in the lower ranks or 'in the trenches' so they may directly help people. Most become local doctors or as part emergency response teams. The last option is to join the army as part of the Triage Division. This is the least appealing as the military sometimes conflicts with the personnel views and beliefs of these individuals. They believe that helping others trumps any stupidity like faction or rank, to the point that Triage Division do not wear the Administration logo, but wear the classic medical cross and their own medical symbol. Regardless the Administration desperately try to recruit these individuals, and there are a number of individuals volunteer for service to do some good.
The Triage Division are medics first and foremost, and this is evident in their equipment. The idea behind their gear is to make them as independent of any stationary medical post as possible. Their armor is the lightest in the Administration military, it sacrifices protection for a ludicrous amount of pockets, filled to the bursting point with medical supplies. Their gauntlets also contain vital medical tools. Their right gauntlet has a technical readout that displays their patients vitals and allows them to manipulate their left gauntlet. The left gauntlet has a retractable, self sterilizing injector, that injects medicine and other necessary chemicals to keep the wounded alive. The helmet is a vital piece of equipment, its not just for protection, its crammed with high tech sensor that not only identify injuries, but enhance the users vision and feed's information to aid in treatment. The most complex item is the smart pistol. Most Triage members object to carrying these, but few factions have problems shooting noncombat personnel. The smart pistol is exactly as it sounds, and works as you'd expect it would. While the helmet is need to guide the rounds, the gun can dumb fire regardless should the situation require it. The smart pistol cannot take on large amounts of enemy but is is an excellent self defense weapon.
Now one may wonder why there are human medics in an army mostly made up machines. Reason one is that while most of the expendable frontline units are indeed machines the Administrations high end units such Chameleon Specialists and Gunmen commandos, and the humble Skull Cap troopers are human, and need medical care should they be injured. Second is why their isn't a robot medic. The Administration does have medical bots, however the human body is just so unpredictable that their useless for only the most minor or routine injuries.
Aside from The Chameleon Specialists and the Gunman Commandos, the Triage Division is one of the few administration units that is respected by the other factions. Their also the only Administration personnel that can expect to receive decent treatment should they be captured.
