Background Information
Droolia started off as a fighting dog in an underground feral fighting ring. Her entire life was spent locked away, forced to be aggressive and competitive against other ferals in order to eat every day. Whenever se was let out, it was to fight. Life was hard for the dog, but it was all she knew. That didn't mean that she enjoyed it however. Quite the opposite. She hated being forced to fight, attacking frightened animals or getting attacked herself. She was large, scary looking and strong. So she was often the one in the ring, often being put against several other dogs and forced to fend for herself against them. She... never lost. But it always came at a price. She'd watch dogs die in her jaws, or if they survived, they were beaten by their owners. That was what she tried to avoid, which was why she always had to win. She made her owner a lot of money and she was his prized fighting dog. One day however, the owner was locking her away when he got a phone call and walked away with the cage half locked. That was her opportunity to escape. She broke free of the cage and ran, ran as fast as her legs could carry her. She was weak and wounded, having just been in a brutal fight, but she couldn't stop. She kept going, entering the city and scaring a ton of pedestrians while she was there.
She was alone for a few days, scrounging the alleyways for anything to eat, avoiding the strange people who chased her with catching sticks. She was surviving, barely, but she was happier. She didn't have to worry about being forced to fight anymore. But... she wanted more. She needed more. The fusion would watch other stray dogs approach the upwalkers meekly and cautiously, begging for food, rolling over for treats, licking their hands for any scrap of food they could find. Some dogs would be picked up by those people, never to be seen again. She wasn't sure if that was a good thing or not... but it provided food. She was nervous, but desperate. What if the person made her fight other animals again? What if she was put back into the same situation...? After a few more hungry days, she decided. She needed to find a good person... that was a thing, right? It had to be.
That was when she met Thomas. He was walking home from a restaurant with leftovers... the smell of his food so enticing. She followed him, keeping a safe distance, but when another person spoke to him, Thomas looked behind and spotted her, running away. She gave chase, not wanting to lose the guy with the delicious smelling food. The boy ducked into an alley, trapping himself between her and a wall. She approached slowly, watching the boy shake and quiver in fear. This was... unusual to her. She was so used to people hating her, and while yes, she could often smell the fear on them, they always reacted so violently. This boy was... timid. She got close to him, staring at him intensely before closing her eyes and giving him a massive lick across the face. She wagged her tail, rolling over onto her back-- all the things that earned dogs food. That was when Thomas realized that all she wanted was his food. So... he gave it to her, and while she ate, he ran away.
That was the first time she'd had a decent meal in her life. Hours after eating her jaws were still dripping with saliva. She knew then and there that she had to find this boy again. No one had ever dared to give her food before, much less food this good! So she tracked his scent, his smell leading her on the campus of a school. She followed his scent all the way to the Valor dorms, and realizing she couldn't get into the building, she elected to hide under the porch and wait for him to come out again. The next morning he did, tucking his hands into his pockets and heading across campus. The fusion feral followed eagerly, her tail wagging, but he didn't seem to notice her. Not until she let out a massive bark, causing the boy to leap in shock. Thomas looked back and saw the dog, running again! What was with this strange person?? Droolia chased him down, whining softly as she leaped and knocked him down. She sniffed and licked him, whining softly and nuzzling the boy. She didn't want him to be scared of her. She wanted him to feed her! Constantly! This pattern continued for days. Thomas would run from her, she'd tackle him, he'd feel bad and give her food and leave again and she'd wait for him by his dorm. One day, when he opened the door to the dorms, she forced her way in, sitting there and staring at him expectantly. She'd decided: He was the person she wanted to be with.
