October 28th 2013 Halloween Costume included learning to do Lattice (& honeycomb) Smocking on material from Hobby Lobby sewn onto a shirt from Goodwill, more Goodwill slacks material used for the cummerbund, Walmart duck tape over fabric for the pirate mask, sewn front flap flat on the boot tops from Amazon, sewing pockets and a button onto the pants gathering dust that had a hole in a pocket and a missing clasp attachment. I also learned to tie a pirate bandana from YouTube. (handkerchief slid back for the photo opportunity) Definitely hand wash any bandanas from Hobby Lobby before wearing them. The die just flows from them when wet and it rained this Halloween. The only thing I didn't really modify was the grey T-shirt and the Sword Replica. That said, I would add that I have been using Mineral Oil found in the Wal-Mart Pharmacy section to clean the sword. Note that 3 in1 oil and gun oil are not food safe.
