Sorry for the abundance of pixel art, it's just that these are stress-free things I can do until I'm ready to draw again since college is finally out for the summer.

Anyways, I figured I should show some characters I've designed so here is one!
This is Cosmina, a name given to her after she's out of the labyrinth she was trapped in/stationed in, which I'll get into after a bit of background information.

This lady is an old design of mine, I'm talking near the beginning of when I started making characters (that I actively gave some sort of information to).
Her design is at least a bit over 4 years old but could definitely be older as my memory is pretty awful.
I found her again a bit ago and decided to redesign/revamp her and here she is.

General Backstory/Background information (there is some talk of the negative effects of isolation here)
  She is somewhere in Romania as I couldn't think of where she would be placed and asked a friend. I don't know a whole lot about Romania myself but when I get around to actually ironing out specifics. Regardless, in my universe there is an underground labyrinth built a long long time ago somewhere in some woods. Knowledge of her and this specific labyrinth is limited but not totally forgotten. Maybe the group around where she was located moved away. Maybe they died off from some disease. I don't know yet but the point is there is information recorded about her from many many many years ago when she first was tasked as protector up to when the group wasn't there anymore.
For a long long while, she was alone in there wondering around. I did some vague research on the effects of isolation so I'm not entirely sure the total effect this had on her, but at any rate this obviously has messed with her a bit. Her sense of time, even though she can still sort of tell when day and night are by a hole in the roof that gathers rainwater at the bottom, is messed up. She experienced hallucinations and likely has an increased sense of anxiety, panic attacks, and paranoia. There is likely other things that I just don't know about but eventually she'll get better once she's out and with people. She wasn't completely alone at some points as animals found their way in, which she enjoyed very much. Sometimes she find it impossible to move for a while. She just stands or sits for minutes, hours, days even (she can't tell how much time has passed when in this state) before she eventually breaks out of it. Some days she goes into a panic and blind rage, going after every sound and movement in a bid to prevent those who aren't allowed in when they never are there, not really anyway. While she could never harm anyone or anything who wasn't on the list (unless for self defense, also the people on the list are long gone and presumed dead), it is something she worries she'd do.
As far as the labyrinth goes, it's pretty well kept but some of it is deteriorated. She knows the entirety of it by memory. Towards the back end is the hole where rainwater is collected, a whole garden of flowers and whatnot (her favorite place), and the place where the mysterious item is she's charged to protect (weird material not found on earth makes up the wall and has unknown way to open it). It wasn't until relatively recently that she was found by scientists after people started taking sightings of her seriously. Most took sightings of her as simply weird stories to freak people out as this was before "monsters" and creatures like that were revealed to be real to the public, well sorta.

Now that that bit of information is out, let's get to specifics about her.

-She is a protector of something. She doesn't know what the something is. All she knows is a picture list of people not allowed to get whatever the hell is, anyone else could come and go as they pleased.
-She is genderfluid except it takes her decades to change (I hope that's the right word to use here) from gender to gender. At the moment she identifies as female and prefers she/her pronouns.
- She has no reproductive system. Nothing at all. Same goes for a digestive system. She does have teeth but they are nearly pitch black. She can technically eat and taste things but it isn't used for anything(?, just sort of goes to a void of nothing so???)
-Very fast and agile
-she's taller than Jim ("normal" height). I've animated her before years ago (poorly) and she's likely around 4-5ft tall?? more towards 4ft if I had to guess since Fred and Frank are also there
-her normal state is the left side while the right side is caused by stress, anxiety, anger, etc. (which happens by her neck extending and the eyes popping out of her skin, her head at the same time becomes uh droopy and floppy)
        - right side form is much more instinctual than self aware. Any noise will shift cause her to sprint there to investigate and is pretty scary to say the least, not that she would hurt you, more just investigate before running off to another sound.
        - her main two eyes become useless while the others look around. They are all independent of one another, can see in all directions, and at least one is open at any moment.
        - while she could speak/learn to speak in left form, the right form is all weird and scary animal-like sounds (ex. being wheezing and screeching type noises)
        - behavior while in right form is somewhat dictated by what emotions or circumstances led to her shifting in the first place. Like her seeing (or otherwise hallucinating) the list of people who can't get the item will be much more patrolling and searching type behavior while if she was in a panic would be much more erratic
-her tail is prehensile and her feet/hands are all able to pick up things
-she's very nice normally but nowadays, for obvious reasons, is always following/around other people
-she was created by some alien race (yes there are a variety of aliens in my universe) to protect the object and by some extension, the people if they were to take shelter in the labyrinth, a long long long time ago
        -she was made to be durable (that might not be the best word)
          -in some effort to make her look more approachable, they took human DNA and added it to some sort of alien animal to create her
        -she hasn't been forgotten but also has in a way, they know she's alive and where she's at but just haven't checked on her since placing her there
