Description
Not once had she ever been disturbed in her sleep. Even when she was a baby she would sleep straight through the night without a whimper. Since the incident, however, her sleep had been broken by nightmares, and shocks.
This night was no different. She tossed and turned, her head splashed with a cold sweat, with her bed clothes twisted around her legs and body.
She was fighting, anyone could tell that. Fighting for the dream to stop, fighting to awake again.

It is a sickly sort of sleep when you realise you can’t wake up. You know you are ready to, but for some reason your mind won’t allow it to happen. You become trapped, and for a short while you hear the noises around you in your room, and you pray for the second you will….

She opened her eyes.
A sharp pin feeling went through her toes on her right foot causing her to jump up fast. After recovering from the mild dizzy spell she looked down her bed to see a ginger and white fluff ball with eyes attempting to pounce once again on her unsuspecting toes, sneaking out the bottom of the cover.
“Percy”
The cat turned and followed the voice of its owner. She let the cat snuggle into her lap and slowly stroked his back.
Her doctor told her it was a good idea to have pets in the household to rid the place of stress, but the only reason she got Percy was for the company.

Buzz

She reached to her bedside table and grabbed her mobile.

Alarm: Take Your Pill Brooke

“Time to get up then Percy”
She lifted her legs out of the quilt, placing her feet on the cold wooden floor, and picking her nightgown off the doorknob as she left her bedroom, she made her way downstairs; Percy at her heels.
