I kind of want to just be done with this. Fun meme, don't get me wrong, but I'm tired of working on it.

Dixie Kong: I noticed Nintendo's presence at E3 this year seemed to be reaching out to female gamers a bit; what with the re-inclusion of Dixie Kong and Peach into playable roles in their respective franchises and the Wii Fit Trainer being included in Smash 4. Why not keep that going? Dixie's a personal favorite of mine and she was supposed to be in Brawl, so why not?

Krystal: Because we need a Star Fox character that's not a bloody clone. That staff has unbelievable unused potential, so long as she doesn't wear that tribal bikini thing (hence why I used this pic as an excuse to draw her in her Dinosaur Planet attire [seriously how did that outfit happen?])

Mike Jones: The protagonist from Startropics, a personal favorite NES game of mine. With him, we could provide a "retro ambassador" to replace the Ice Climbers. And yes, I know that his moveset of yo-yos and baseball bats is similar to the Earthbound characters. But hey, they suck anyway, so that's 3 characters that don't need to be programmed for the price of one! (before I'm asked why I don't like those characters, I find the Earthbound design style obnoxious to look at. I'm not sure why. Ice Climbers I just find generally annoying, again for no discernible reason.)

King K. Rool: Probably the only character on my list I don't think I'd actually use in play. I love Donkey Kong, but I can't use heavy characters to any effective extent. Granted his blunderbuss (?) from DKC2 I think he could have a pretty respectable moveset. And I figure his Final Smash would be his alter-ego from DKC3, Baron K. Roolenstein, which I have to admit I had to look up that name (can't say I blame myself though, it lacks the lingual punch of King K. Rool or Kaptain K. Rool.)

Rayman: Rest assured, if I had finished this meme before E3 this year, Megaman would be in that spot. But Rayman is another series I have a huge soft spot for, and the kind of zany antics he gets in now would be a perfect fit for Smash. Though I suppose since Smash is already a hodgepodge of other franchises finding a poor fit would be more of a challenge. But really, seeing him in Smash would make me so happy, regardless of how unrealistic that expectation is.
