I KNOW!!

The same goes in the opposite direction - Iroh dead in Zuko's arms. Oh, it's The Chase all over again... But yeah, I'm working on a fanfic for the second one... I'm kinda horrible like that, killing people off.

I hate killing people. Desensitizes to the event when it comes.

Exactly why I like doing it. Prepares me for when it actually does happen. (no it doesn't. I'm just a sick horrible person...)

Thanks! I felt so too! ^_^ Hence why I chose to color it in the first place! Crappy coloredness was not an option, to the point that I'm still finding some small little insignificant-really mistakes and have to fix them and reupload the picture like several times a day, lol! Obsess much? Me? Noooo...

It came out wonderfully! It really does look like traditional art. I love the dark color scheme.

Yeah, I like the darkness, too. I made it even darker by making a translucent dark purple layer on top of the painting. But yeah, I love Corel Painter. It's amazing.

Well, there's actually not much difference between 7 and CS2, at least in terms of the interface. I haven't tried CS3 yet, but I know it runs like lightning on an Intel Mac like mine. It also is supposed to be more like InDesign in terms of the interface, but we'll see.

So now that you've tried CS3 on Cory's mac (and Illustrator), which is the absolute best??

You know, I again didn't notice much interface difference between the Photoshop versions, though how fast CS3 opened made me very happy. The difference in Illustrator, though, was incredible! I think Illustrator CS3 is a step in the right direction for vector programs. They don't need to be so inorganic anymore.

What exactly is a vector program???

You know how pictures in Photoshop and Painter are made up of pixels? When you zoom in, you see little squares. Those are called raster images, and are the most common of imaging formats.

On the other hand, Illustrator and Inkscape are vector programs. Instead of being tethered to pixels, they map everything out mathematically, so you can take a logo meant for a business card and blow it up to billboard size with no loss of quality. However, it's nearly impossible to get photorealism in vector programs for one thing; I've seen people come close, but there's always something off, and if you zoomed in enough you'd see that it was vectors. Also, most vector programs don't "feel" the same as raster programs; it just doesn't feel organic and natural, like you're really drawing. This made sense ten, twenty years ago when vector programs were the only decent imaging programs around, and were tied to sluggish hardware, but there's no excuse for that anymore. There is no reason nowadays to have inorganic feeling programs, vector or not. CS3, while far from perfect, is definitely a step in the right direction. You can actually draw with it, unlike CS1, where you're stuck with the pen tool.

You're welcome--presuming it made sense.

I had to learn this stuff for my computer imaging class; that's how I know.
