Hahaha, so! I was working on page 2 of the Iron Man/Samus comic yesterday when one of the last panels was giving me trouble. So I set it aside, pulled out some paper and began to draw.

This is what I ended up with. It's not finished but I haven't uploading a work in progress in... never.

Have I ever mentioned how much I love Ultimate Cap's WWII uniform? I am in love with that uniform. I FANGIRL that uniform.

So... yeah. It's not finished and I'm sure you can see the errors I need to correct (movement of helmet straps contradicts the movement of the figure; shield is not symmetrical; star does not seem properly centered on chest), and of course the details (and rest of the figure) that need to be finalized. Plus Bucky. Because Bucky's awesome and deserves to be in the picture.

BUT GET THIS. The paper I'm using has turned out too small for the drawing. It would cut Cap's legs off unless I drew them disproportionate and stumpy. Completely throws off how I was going to have him over a torn Nazi flag (I love symbolism!) and so I have to completely rework the pose.

I also find a great level of irony in this drawing. I so don't usually go for all this gung-ho great American patriotism. But it's fun to draw with Cap!

I'll be moving this into scraps later, once the actual picture is finished.
