Disclaimer: No, neither Nathan and I are drug addicts. Here's an explanation below.

After listening to the song that inspired this drawing for the first time in years, I knew I had to make a drawing and a scenario that takes place during the events of it. So, this is basically a what-if universe where Darby hasn't gotten therapy, and Nathan is forced to work for Elton John. Darby is a popular artist as usual, but she's in an abusive relationship with her orthodontist, who's obviously way too old for her. To cope with her issues, Darby relies on drugs and alcohol, believing that this will help her problems, when it, in fact, makes things worse. Fortunately, she has her squeakoids to keep her company. Meanwhile, Nathan's relationship with Elton isn't as bad as Darby's with her abuser, but he still struggles to escape due to his boss's temperament, and the fact that Elton is using him for money and power. As much as Nathan loves being on the ice, he can't tolerate Elton's music and wants to make a change, but he knows that if he changes his mind, he'll lose everything—especially his Olympic Gold Medal. Together, Darby and Nathan do their best to support each other while hoping that someday, they will heal from this chaos.

Like I've said before, this is a what-if scenario, so this is not canon to my MLP universe.
