Cosmic Horror Deep One(c) Marijn bierhof
as I assume is obvious cosmic horror is based on the cthulhu mythos. I wanted to take a slightly own take on the classic beings, but one cant escape inspiration from outside.
the approach is (obviously ?) inspired by the Mist and I think it works well for this. (especially as these didnt need to be miniature concepts.)

This is a really original take on how deep ones are usually drawn. ex. thick neck, scaly appearance, slightly bloated, Creature from Black Lagoon, etc. Great job at coming up with something new and effectively monstrous!

That's not how I imagine Deep Ones as, but it's obvious Lovecraft's intent was for our imaginations to make the worst off his creations, whether they are accurate or not. Good work!
