Gooday mates:Well, last week I bought a WD portable drive. I installed it but it doesn't come with a WD icon when I open My PC; so I looked for some but I didn't like them. Therefore I decide to make it my self from the nicest pictures available from WD.
These are in colors shown above in the following formats:
-Extension *.ico
-PNG 128
-PNG 256
Additionally, if you want that your customized icon loads when you connect your portable drive you must create an "AutoRun.inf" file. Then open your Notepad and copy:
[AutoRun]
ICON=abcd.ico
-Where abcd is the name of the icon that you want.
-Then save it as: AutoRun.inf
-In the Save as Type drop menu choose: All Files
-In the Encoding drop menu choose: ANSI
-Then save it
-Then copy the Autorun.inf file and the icon to the root of your portable drive
-Unplug it
-Run Ccleaner to clean temps and cache
-Plug it back
That's it, now when you connect your new WD portable drive to your PC the new icon will appear.
