Or, that might be the problem. I tend to do exactly that, let it dry out and than drown it. It might be dry for too long. Maybe it'll bloom again this spring and I can get a better picture.

Perhaps let it dry out, then drown it? But I'm horrible with flowers. Too bad the photo is so unfocused :/
