I buy a ladder I never use. My room mates have more fun with it than I. They make a game of finding the craziest place to put it, and make up some bogus story of how it got there, usually involving intelligent squirrels. The latest was due to spontaneous germination. I admit I was bitter at first. But I realize the futility of getting angry about it. I never even used the darn thing to fix the gutter or anything. Besides, they want me to get angry. That is their goal. Am I content with the situation? I shall be happy to set the trifle on the burn pile and witness its full and final eradication.
