IF YOU WANT TO SEE MY COSPLAY, THEN GO HERE.
Okie dokie. So, I had someone step forward and and comment on some of the questions asked about this costume:"It is a SPANDEX suit that I bought on eBay. I'm sure that I never said it was latex or from a sex shop (I imagine that would be uncomfortable and expensive). The "kitty boy" in the background is my husband (then boyfriend). I made the hat that he's wearing. He still loves it but doesn't really wear it anymore considering he's grown up 5 years."
Now, I had commented that I was told that it was a latex suit bought at a sex shop. That IS what I was told, and I quite distinctly remember being told. I know how hard it is to paint spandex. If it is spandex, then I was misinformed or misheard.
Now, there are also questions as to how the Helmet was made.
That I do not know. I still have no experience in making such a piece, but I am certain there are many different methods.

I believe there's a way you can disable +fav and comments if need be. I'm not sure how, I just know there have been times that I haven't been able to favorite something...

There was a long time ago. You could disable faving... But not anymore. You can disable comments, but that's not my problem.

You did a great job playing as Midna. She's by far one of the more memorable characters in the series. Now my burning question is.. didn't that "hat" weight a ton?

Sorry, if I sound pissy, but I get a lot of comments complimenting me on how well I did, when I state that it is not me. I do have to agree it is a very well done cosplay, and I believe her helmet was made out of foam.

Unfortunately, the artist can never be sure just what piece will turn out to be popular. To most people, it doesn't matter that this is "just a snapshot" -- they fave it because it's a hot woman in a skintight Midna costume, and SEX SELLS. You mix a cute character from one of the most popular video game series of all time with a sexy lady and you get lots of views and favorites.
I once bought a pinup piece from an artist named Kim Arndt at Anthrocon '99 which probably took her the least amount of time of all her art to draw, and paid $155 American for it. Kim later posted on some message board that she had pieces like that sell for hundreds, while more complex and emotionally more involved pieces sat on the wall unbought or didn't command as much money. She was upset at this for some reason.
The way I figure it, people are going to like what they like regardless of how much you yell at them and beg them to like other stuff. You cannot change people's appreciation of individual pieces simply by getting upset. In fact it may have the exact opposite effect; it may turn people away from your work. I know it can be disheartening, but to be honest, people love the directness of pinups, and they love not having to think too much. You will find people like everything you photograph, you will find people who like only this piece. Hey, that's life, and nobody ever said it was fair, especially to artists.

Thanks for the advice. I know that sex sells. And unfortunately, that is probably going to cause my Shirtless Axel and Drag Axel to become my most popular versions of Axel... One for girls and others for guys. I actually made someone change their mind about Axel because of Shirtless Axel. They never thought that Axel was attractive until they saw me... -shrugs- If you don't know what costumes I'm talking about go to for the pictures. Or . Also, Lokia got the same kind of attention. I don't like it, but I deal with it.

Don't get upset... people fav'ing this picture isnt insinuating your art is bad, it's just the reality is cospay photos, anime and fanart will get favourited the most/instanly. I could see this from afar and instantly know it would be popular on DA... an actual piece of art however, that's more risky!

It was the third day of AX07 and my contacts or the contact solution caused something to happen in my eyes and I had to get them flushed out... It wasn't fun.
