Description Chapter Four

The first term went by quickly, and soon it was the holidays.
"Okay, hows about on Friday, we have a little party, to celebrate?" Asked Ms Lori. The class cheered.
"So, what are your ideas?"
"A pyjama party!" suggested one girl.
"No, we should have a disco!" another replied.
"I want popcorn!" someone yelled.
"Chocolate!"
"Chips!"
The suggestions were endless. After a debate about the best brand of chips was the best, what flavour popcorn, and other stuff like that, the decisions were made. Everybody was very excited.
"Of course," Ms Lori's voice cut through the chatter.
"Of course, we have to get all our work done first, otherwise the party is off. Is that clear?" A murmur ran through the students.

That afternoon, when Nick stepped inside, he was surprised to find his mum home.
"Nice day?" she asked absentmindedly.
"Yeah, was okay. What're you baking?"
"Chocolate cake, and there are scones in the oven."
"Kay." Nick leaned over and scooped some batter out of the bowl.
"Hey!"
Grinning, Nick ran up the stairs.
His mum dusted her hands off on her apron and followed him.
"Nick?"
"Mmm?" He turned to face her.
"Well, I wasn't going to say anything until it was final, but I've got the tickets now, so, we're going on holiday in a couple months."
"Really? Where are we going?"
"Australia."
"Kay. Call me when dinners ready, can you? I've got homework."

Thankfully, being the end of term, there wasn't much. Well, apart from a boatload of maths. Nick stared out the window and chewed his pencil. If the answer was anywhere, it wasn't out the window. He sighed and set to work.
