She's my new illithid bby(No, I will never stop making illithids uwu)
For Ideth turning into an illithid was not a nuisance, in fact, it was an advantage. She was already a gnome psion, specially good in some kinds of kinetic powers and influencing. She was proficient in telekinesis, athmokinesis(manipulate atmosphere/climate if I'm not wrong) and in animatokinesis(manipulate and create objects).
She had already been prone to evil even before turning into an illithid, she is a rare case.
Ideth lived at a rather rich and pompous merchant colony, she held quite a lot of influence over there and for that many wanted her death. One day she simply disappeared .... With the 75℅ of the hive's riches, fifty thralls and other nine individuals of the hive, including a young, arrogant ulitharid who never wanted to cater to the elder brain's demands, and instead sided with her.
She's certainly trying to start a small hive of her own, away from the elder brain's influence, and with more than enough knowledge to do so and to be able to keep the new hive up and waiting for the ulitharid that went with them to turn into an elder brain of its own. They also have tanks to preserve the brains of those that die before they get to have an elder brain.
Ideth enjoys creating horrible, nightmarish inventions and making chimeras through psionic use, it takes more time than with arcana, but the results are far more refined.
