No but in all seriousness (kinda) The three lost boys never were nurtured with a parent or parents so to speak. Which we note all of the immaturity of a an 8 year old boy is in a 17-20 year old boy. It makes sense, look at Sephiroth. Not much human contact when he was younger. When he is older his persona is cold, calculating, and sure of himself. After losing his friends he wavers. Then Nibelheim happens and he goes apeshit because of what he discovers of himself. I feel sorry for them all.

Well lets count what led him there. Hojo was a big factor.(no parents an insane scientist that sees everyone as a specimen.) 2. His two closest friends disappeared for a while. And then when (well not really it was more of Zack that saw them) he saw them again they were degrading, irrational, and desperate. 3. Angeal committed suicide and made poor Zack fight him and kill him in the process which killed Zack's purpose in life because he pretty much killed his bigbrother/father figure. And later Genesis in Nibelheim if I can rememeber confronted Sephiroth. I mean just the series of events that triggered that. 4.And Sephiroth had never seen that side of them. And for them to leave him behind was something that got him depressed. 5.Oh and lets not forget the whole *monster* theme going on and the Jenova project that was similar to the Genesis' experimentation file. Now assuming that he too is a monster because was injected with alien cells. 6. And what blew up the whole thing was Jenova's virus corpse got in contact with him through telepathy and whispered lies in his head (believable ones for someone who finally cracked from all the stress he accumilated over the years and the information he found on himself in the lab) Yeah, I would go psycho on everyone's ass.

I was totally going to make a bullshit answer about why jenova was the way she was...and then I decided not to because. well..ah hell..short story made was that Jenova caught a virus and came to gaia and got way too friendly with a few Cetra. And the virus killed them making her pissed off (because no one was surviving for her) and the remaining Cetra well they were just as pissed because of her. And so got together and sealed her. Annnnd then eons later (have no idea about the timeline. so don't sue me.) the scientist discovered and dug Jen-jen up. annnd yeah you know the rest...
