Description
What you are gazing at here is the finished product of what I started about four weeks ago. THIS is the visiual aid I completed for my AP. Lit. 4th Quarter reading assignment. I read Transformers Exodus.Now...I know some of you may be thinking that Exodus was for Transformers: War for Cybertron but if you think about it, ALOT of what takes place in the book also holds true for the Transformers Prime continuity. Plus, Optimus/Orion & Megatron/Megatronus from the Prime series are ALOT easier to draw.
This picture had to be taken with a camera because the paper is far too big to scan in. In reality, this project is roughly 3ft. long by 2 1/2ft. wide. It's HUGE.
Hope all you viewers out there like this. ^^
Oh, and xXAshimusPrimeXx...if you're reading this...THIS is the big project I was talking about in one of our previous note conversations.

About 4 weeks to be honest. That's how long it took me.
But it was a lot of off and on drawing for a while until a couple of weeks ago.

If I understood the production commentary correctly, you are absolutely right; Transformers: Prime is based on the Exodus continuity.
I am blown away at how well rendered this piece is. I can go on about how well the character likeness, colour, contrast etc etc, but I really want to mention that on first glance, I realized this was making reference to the battle of Iacon. I think that is the most stunning part of this image: with very little emphasis you have managed to contextualize the whole image.
TL;DR :

Well, that was what I was trying to go for in capturing a main emphasis of the book.
Thank you so much though. ^^
By the way...LOVE the optimusprimela! In all honesty I squealed when a saw it.

Ok, This is awesome! Now what I'm wondering is how you could tie Transformers into an AP lit project.

Actually it wasn't that hard. ^^
I just had to explain how Optimus/Orion was the Protagonist of the story and Megatron was the Antagonist. I also explained that Optimus was Megatron's foil character as well as how Megatron was Optimus' foil. I also explained things as simple as a general plot summery to things a little more complicated like THEME, SYMBOLISM and MOTIFS.
Some themes I came up with were:
* The Similarities and Differences between Autocracy and Tyranny
* The Idea of the Pen being Mightier than the Sword
and
* The Idefinate Battle Between Good and Evil, and the Balance it must Hold
Some Symbolism I came up were:
* The Matrix of Leadership --representing leadership, Superiority of ideals and overall victory
* Iacon --representing a center of culture, progess and prosperity.(represented visually through it's bright, brilliant colors)
* Kaon --representing an opposite of all what Iacon is. (Sort of like the contrast between heaven and hell)
And some Motifs are:
* Six Lasers -- represents any object of longing that is unreachable by lower poverty levels, and continuously shows the indifference between upper and lower castes.
* Dark Energon -- represents everything bad/evil that resides within a sentient individual's heart. (lust, greed, anger, remorse etc.)
Yeah...I know I sort of rambled all that out in one comment, but hopefully that helps you in your question about how I was able to tie Transformers into an AP Lit project. ^__^

I did too. It really explained a lot to me when I had no idea about the history of Transformers. It's now apart of my collection of Transformer things including a how-to-draw book for TFP.

Exodus, Exiles, War for Cybertron, Fall of Cybertron, and TF Prime are all one continuity, called the Aligned Continuity. **smiles** So you would be absolutely correct in associating them with each other. I wish more people would actually remember and accept that because it is actual fact straight from Hasbro.

Well, as much of a fan I consider myself to be, I actually now feel a little ashamed of myself that I didn't know that. How horrid of me....
Anyway...it's not important. At least I got it right and the project itself was an overall success.

Yup, that's true. Hey, if you have any questions, feel free to ask me. There's a reason I've been named TF Info Guru for multiple TF RP sites. XD I've been a fan since 1984 and being a natural researcher that I am, I know a lot.
