My newest work... Something simple and soothing. I wanted a lot of empty space here, to kind of focus in on the small area of light, the moon lighting and disappearing behind the clouds. I also wanted a very dreamy feel, obviously, so I had lots of light-haloing type stuff, the gentle glow around almost everything. Why didn't I work in stars, you ask? Well, a moon that bright would probably blot them out due to light pollution, and more importantly--they'd prolly destroy the image, at least as far as I can tell. I like it, and it's my current wallpaper (I feel a little weird, using one of my own wallpapers.... kind of cocky... eh.

Two days ago - I had a dream.

Downright spooky. When I made this yesterday, I just kind of fell into it. This was not a planned image.

Umm.. I don't remember. It had some irrelevant narrative... but at one point, I looked up at the sky and the moon was huge and blue and had bits of clouds around it. And then it moved away slowly - like it was drifting out of orbit. Trippy.
Could be the Venus/Sun eclipse coming up shortly.

I love the colors in this! The clouds came out absolutely terrific; they look so real!! I agree with you about not putting any stars in, the emptiness is nice. I'm definitely going to use this as a wallpaper

This is brilliant. I love the way the clouds float in a small layer over the (what looks to be) mountains. The body of water and reflection at the bottom is kickass.

very impressive work man.. only thing is that maybe it wud look good with a slight bit of definition of the dark side of the planet.. but i wouldn't know how that looks unless isaw it so you probably made the right choice
u use stock for the clouds and terrain? or is it painted on?

lol, so many people commented on it, i guess what i say will be about the same as the rest lol. But im glad you didnt add stars or anything to draw attention away from the moon. Its amazing, the clouds fit with the moon so well, really good job!!!

WhatΒ΄s wrong with using your own wallpaper? I do it all the time and, in my opinion, itΒ΄s a great way to see if your WP isnΒ΄t boring or messes with desktop icons.

ah great work. I like the blueish tone, and the simplicity in the picture. you really got the focus on the moon. but I feel like the moon itself could use some more detail, more work on the surface.
