Description
I ended up deciding to model his eyes off of preying mantises. Fits more with the pokemon design, which also has antennae. Dragonflies do not have antennae, so I had to reference from other kinds of insects for that, too.As for the things on his back, check out these amazing photos of dragonfly backs:

I did obviously leave off the second set of wings per the pokemon design, but I wanted to include all the little gemlike things.

His face is still mostly dragonfly aside from the eyes. This one even looks like it has a "nose" with nostrils!
