History:
Nieve was a normal fairy that was born in the Woods of Illusion. She'd lived there for the most part and explored the woods despite the obvious dangers. She was clever and quick witted enough to survive which made her confident in herself over time. Nieve learned a lot about the woods as she grew older. At some point she found a traditional sheikah that was patrolling the area. The sheikah was a scout, but she hadn't actually seen one around before and wondered what they were up to. This led her to following the scout around trying to get questions answered. Though the scout tried to lose her, she managed to follow them out of the woods and back to the Hidden Village. From there she was caught by the scout who was upset that the village's location could be compromised.

Instead of killing Nieve to end the threat, the sheikah left her alive. They saw value in her presence and promised to answer her questions as long as she worked with them. Nieve agreed though she would twist the terms of acceptance a bit first. Over time Nieve learned quite a bit about the traditional sheikah and about Hyrule in general. They were a very well informed race which she enjoyed. Nieve bonded with her partner and worked rather well as a distraction and scout. Very few would ever suspect a fairy which made spying and recon a lot more efficient. Nieve had adopted more personality traits from the sheikah and how they worked.

Nieve and her partner were sent to the icy mountains to check on the state of the ruins. Every so often visitors exploring the ruins would make progress and the sheikah were to keep tabs on it to prevent the demon inside from being released. Resetting traps and finding other ways to deter visitors was done. This journey, however, went poorly unlike what was predicted. A storm hit the area and the two ended up lost in the storm. The sheikah scout eventually froze to death but managed to keep Nieve alive. She eventually realized she'd die too unless she tried to get to the ruins. She knew a Great Fairy resided there and figured she could get help. Once the storm died down a bit, Nieve left her partner and headed to the ruins. Fortunately they weren't too far away, but without protection Nieve was quickly freezing to death. The last thing she remembered was falling unconscious inside the ruins which were as cold inside as it was outside.

When she awakened, Nieve was in the Realm of the Great Fairies. She had been saved by them and was chosen to take her place. Nieve bore with it and grew into a Great Fairy herself, though she was still saddened by the loss of her partner. Being that she was so used to the sheikah culture, she ended up closing off a bit and becoming more focused. She took her job as a great fairy seriously even before reemerging in Hyrule. She took over the place of the Great Fairy of the Ancient Ice Ruins when she came back to Hyrule. Nieve has taken to guarding the region and, knowing the horrors of the weather, she does what she can to aid travelers and keep the region safe. Nieve had sought out where this demon in the ruins was and, to honor her friend's memory, she took it upon herself to prevent anyone from getting to the demon. She has kept watch for many years and guarded the ruins.
