To understand this artwork, you must understand the featured characters
the main character featured here is Tiara (my OC)
a Human/Anthro Hybrid, and daughter of Queen Aleena Hedgehog.
the story here is that she's been called some 'unflattering' names because of her mixed race
and, is confiding in her older sister, Sonia (who is utterly speechless)
Honestly, WHO WOULD call such a sweet little thing such a mean thing?!

Both look cute. The little one's ears and hair remind me of Scarlett.
I may not be much of a fan of this franchise or know much, but I have to admit. Shadow the Hedgehog has always been my favourite character, being a dark clone of Sonic.

Technically, he isn't a "clone" per-say.
but an artificially created hedgehog/alien hybrid whose physical features were based on Super Sonic
(whose image was found in ancient tile art found in the Mystic Ruins, which are centuries old)
It's complicated.
Shadow, as a character, is basically everything Sonic isn't.
Sonic is speedy, witty and a thrill seeker..
Shadow is Dark, Angsty, Serious.
he get around in air shows, teleportation and motorcycles.
give him any type of gun, and he'll blow you away with it.
and, tends to say things like: "Where is that D*MN Chaos Emerald!!?" (no, seriously: He DID say that in a game)
So, yeah: I can see why you like him.

It's general "specism"
In Sonic Canon, some Humans AND Anthros have racist views on one another
(Geoffrey St. John is one such character who hates humans to DEATH.
and, Robotnik's brother, Colin was VERY racist against Mobians)
It all stemmed from that "Great War"
I actually based this whole concept on the angry fans.
who think romantic Human/Anthro pairings is akin to Bestiality
(which I have already figured out to NOT be the case,
as despite similar genetics, Anthros and Animals are NOT the same species)
Thos same people would consider a Human/Anthro hybrid to be a Freak of Nature,
or, some "Unholy Abomination" that shouldn't even exist, and should just die.
Anticipating such bashings.
I decided to make this subject known, in the form of child bullying.
People are calling Tiara a freak..and, she has NO IDEA why.

Yeah, out of all of the canon Sonic Characters,
Sonic himself has the least reason to dislike Humans/Overlanders.
He formed a close friendship with Chris Thorndyke in one universe.
and, Sonic also entertained the idea of a human love interest with Princess Elise.
and, to be precise: Sonic REALLY dislikes Geoffrey St. John, and his racist attitude.
getting real angry at him, and xenophobic mobians over harsh treatment against Nate Morgan.
So, I wouldn't expect Sonic to let the bullying of his young half-sister to slide.

I just get the feeling Sonic would be the uber-protective older brother, regardless of any racism issues that are behind bullying.

Sonic has been portrayed as a Father in both Fanon AND Canon.
Canonwise, it is mostly in the 'Mobius: 20 Years Later'
where Sonic married Sally Acorn, and became "King Sonic"
(amusingly, he named his two children 'Sonia and Manic')
in Fanon, Sonic is usually paired with Amy.
and, acts a bit protective with various incarnations of his daughter.
like, she gets back home, and Sonic usually asks: "So, where have you been?!"
implying he doesn't want her hanging around any BOYS.
I imagine this kind of scene taking place..

I think Sonic has most reason to distrust boys around any daughter of his,
because in HIS teen years, he was a bit of a flirt and a showoff.
He KNOWS what teenage boys think about.
