Based loosely on Neo Metal Sonic from Sonic Heroes,
and ALOT on Ultron from MCU's Avengers: Age of Ultron.
This is a reimagining of the sentient character of Metal Sonic.
After Sonic the Hedgehog was presumed dead after the Xorda Incident,
Sonic's Uncle Chuck took Robotnik's old Metal Sonic Prototypes,
and maufactured his own armada of Robotic Metal Sonic Troopers to safeguard Mobius.
Unfortunately, a glitch in one of the robots caused it to gain sentience.
This lone robot knew it's purpose was to protect the world..
..but, believed the usual method was too slow, and brought few results.
Dubbing itself Metallix (One of Metal Sonic's oldest codenames)
It took control of the Metal Sonic Troopers (Both Chuck's, AND Eggman's)
and, proceeded with it's own plan to bring everlasting peace to Planet Mobius
by wiping the slate clean, and starting over again.
Sonic found difficulty in beating Metallix the first time,
as unlike the original Metal Sonic itself, Metallix was beyond just a mere machine.
(And, he was beyond just being a mechanical "clone" of Sonic himself.)
Ironically, Metallix' prime nemesis who managed to derail his plans,
was none other than Shard, the reprogrammed and upgraded form of the original Metal Sonic.
