Description
Since Acaeileus' untimely arrival on Avalon, many of the clan took to him as though he had hatched alongside them... none moreso than Cordelia. While Acaeileus proved more than adept in the seas that surrounded their island, his clan had not needed to fly in many a century and Cordelia readily accepted the task of getting the young mergoyle reacquainted with his wings. The older hatchlings, meanwhile, proved especially interested in the newcomer and soon enough Acaeileus found himself teaching them how to swim. Inviting the entire clan to join his lessons, he learned quickly that not all of them were keen on getting their talons wet... namely as Juno and her rookery sister Celia would state, "Wings were meant to kiss the sky, not the sea". Their children Taran and Lucius, however, had no such ideas and readily took to a newfound playground... much to Figaro's, son of Rosencrantz and Guildenstern , chagrin. Not finding the idea of getting wet appealing, as well as being the youngest hatchlings, Astrea and Mairenn were made to sit ashore and watch their brothers find new ways to torment Figaro -- something Celia was quick to put a stop to (in her presence, at least).

While eager to participate, Cordelia's trepidations initially kept her ashore -- it was difficult enough for her to maneuver on land, but the idea of drowning seemed even more frightening to her than falling. With Acaeileus' gentle coaxing and reassurances, however, Cordelia finally found the courage to join him in his element as he had in hers.
