Description
Since Acaeileus' untimely arrival on Avalon, many of the clan took to him as though he had hatched alongside them... none moreso than Cordelia. While Acaeileus proved more than adept in the seas that surrounded their island, his clan had not needed to fly in many a century and Cordelia readily accepted the task of getting the young mergoyle reacquainted with his wings. The older hatchlings, meanwhile, proved especially interested in the newcomer and soon enough Acaeileus found himself teaching them how to swim. Inviting the entire clan to join his lessons, he learned quickly that not all of them were keen on getting their talons wet... namely as Juno and her rookery sister Celia would state, "Wings were meant to kiss the sky, not the sea". Their children Taran and Lucius, however, had no such ideas and readily took to a newfound playground... much to Figaro's, son of Rosencrantz and Guildenstern , chagrin. Not finding the idea of getting wet appealing, as well as being the youngest hatchlings, Astrea and Mairenn were made to sit ashore and watch their brothers find new ways to torment Figaro -- something Celia was quick to put a stop to (in her presence, at least). While eager to participate, Cordelia's trepidations initially kept her ashore -- it was difficult enough for her to maneuver on land, but the idea of drowning seemed even more frightening to her than falling. With Acaeileus' gentle coaxing and reassurances, however, Cordelia finally found the courage to join him in his element as he had in hers.

An absolutely wonderful, and a very pleasant surprise after a busy day of studying, and doing homework. I really love all of the interactions of our Gargoyles OCs, and Acaeileus would always be there to help Cordelia learn to become comfortable with swimming. Acaeileus is fair in his handling misbehaving hatchlings of every age so he'll watch Figaro's back. Love how romantic the embrace is between a rather pleased young leader of the Mediterrean Clan, and Cordelia. Truly amazing beauty, and depth to this pretty cool digital painting, MewberryCake-chan.
It would be pretty interesting to see how Acaeileus would adapt to learning how to glide with his large manta ray wings in the evening sky? Who would teach my dashing mer gargoyle warrior?

I'm so very glad that you like it! And I'm sure Figaro would appreciate having someone else to back him up when it came to his more aggressive rookery brothers, as he's more gentle-natured than they are... even if he lacks the intense love of the theatrical arts that his parents have. Though after this, Acaeileus may have to coax him back into the water like he initially did with Cordelia.
And I'm certain Cordelia would be happy to teach him how to fly, though she herself moreso relies on sensing the differing air currents around objects along with the up and down drafts in order to maneuver around. In the sea, I'm sure Acaeileus' clan use something similar to get around in the deeper, darker depths of their home that even standard gargoyle night-vision can't quite see through.

*I'm really sorry for taking so long to reply back to you on this awesome digital painting. *
It is really well-drawn and I greatly enjoyed this drawing! Yes I will let you know that all of the Teachers in my Gargoyle clans are always offering support to shy, gentle and manage to tame the more aggressive youngsters of the clan. Acaeileus always backs anyone up who might need it most, as he can understand both sides from growing up with far more hot-headed rookery brothers, this gentle aquatic gargoyle warrior is wise in different ways of getting everyone to work together as a team. Figaro could politely tell Taran and Lucius that he does not like their picking on him due to his being more gentle-natured. Most of the Avalon Clan would be pretty amazed by just how patient, Acaeileus is as a Teacher, he does offer a firm hand to help Figaro as the younger gargoyle boy gets back into the water, and begins to get the hang of swimming.
Yes I would completely agree with you on Cordelia greatly would enjoy teaching Acaeileus how to properly glide, his huge manta ray wings are used to gliding through the ocean's surf. I'd like to see an image of both of them gliding together whenever you get a chance. It can be interesting, Acaeileus, and the Mediterranean Clan do have some sort of echolocation of the varying depths of the ocean as they go into the duskier realms of their underwater home. Their night vision is pretty keen compared to land-dwelling gargoyles' night-vision.

This came out perfect!
I can see Lucius mishearing Taran's "We're in trouble!" warning as, "Not enough bubbles!" or something else just as silly. And now I'm reminded of the mistranslation jokes we did with their mirai Saiyajin counterparts.

Thanks! Well, it is heard to hear anything over the sounds of splashing and flailing... and calling for Figaro's parents to come help him, but they've since left for the theater after telling him to 'have fun'.

No prob!
Exactly. "Fun" indeed. Though I'd imagine the whole "Avalon sends you where you need to be" thing has messed with their theater plans on more than one occasion, come to that.

"This isn't France, and that's not a theater! ... It's a burning hovel and a rogue fae. Again. Damnit, Avalon!"
