Which of these do you prefer?

I'm liking the darker turn this has taken.

Took into account Baeko's advice, thanks dude - you raised some very good points! I admit the balloons were very much just spcae killers, because I had no idea what to put in, I' am really really new to larger art =[ Despite the fact I've done a lot I don't think my actual composition or postwork in LPs has ever improved. But I'm getting better at it now.

EDIT: Updated it, added type, some connections, fourth ship and shadows =]
