i found this sitting in my drive unfinished from when i was backing up files a while back. and now i've figured out what to put in the remaining empty spaces. i will always enjoy a good ol' deviantart meme.

there are not only things that inspire me to draw, but also things that got me into drawing. i'm takin a lil break from homework so i feel like going a lil in depth about each one, so big description warning.

••• my ocs - that particular character of mine that i drew is monica. she is a character i often default to when i wanna mindlessly doodle something or warm up she's very active and expressive so i feel like i can draw her doing pretty much anything and it's great. she's great!
••• cartoons - those are my two favorite cartoons! i like to watch animation ^_^ (probably liked it more back then than i do now....) not that those shows are bad or anything, i just have new uhhhhh Associations (tm) towards anything animated since i've been in art school,, |D
••• anime - speaking of animation, anime really inspires me as well lots of common expressions or styles found in anime/manga have somewhat made their way into how i draw. my favorite anime is either mob psycho or noragami, but in this put my gateway anime: fruits basket! because that and my cousin drawing anime got me into art too
••• tangled/disney - tangled reeeeeally made me want to draw as well. idk if anyone remembers, but my first posts on this site are rapunzel drawings XD after seeing tangled, i became somewhat of a disney stan. love their work. especially their concept art!
••• environments - IDK WHY but whenever i see a gorgeous environment or a detailed scenic illustration, i just go batshit. there are sooooo many pretty backgrounds to look at!! that bg in particular is from sleeping beauty and it was done by Eyvind Earle.
••• colors! - vibrant colors r my JAM!!! i like seeing artists make unique use of colors too, and it's something i hope to do successfully someday.
••• leo's art - this specific online artist indirectly introduced me to deviantart LOL. she's @/hellspawnmotel on twitter. tumblr too, i think. anyway, her mystery dungeon art made me so happy, and seeing her work on dA in like 2011 made little me be like... this WILL be where i make my online debut. so i did just that >: ) i continue to follow her to this day! she has very rad work i highly recommend checking her out. twitter.com/hellspawnmotel?ref…
••• rubber hose style - fairly recently (as in a couple yrs ago) i had an epiphany that the curviness and flexible look of rubber hose was exactly what i wanted to channel in my character art. love that shiz !
••• nature - similarly to environment art, whenever i see the beauty of nature irl or somewhere online, im like..... THIS IS WHY I DRAW
••• pokemon mystery dungeon - THIS...... this was a big one in inspiring me to get into drawing as a kid. not only was it about pokemon, something i was ridiculously hyperfixated on (still am lmfao), but the STORY..... THE FACT THAT THEY TALK LOL.... THE MUSIC..... this game made me astral project at age 11. i'm still super duper in love with it, i'll never stop drawing art for it
••• video game jams - (wish i coulda figured out how to keep kirby as a gif so he could b groovy lol u.u) video game osts almost never fail to make me wanna draw about whatever game it's from. the music easily associates itself with memories of playing the game....... god i love games lol
••• nintendo - lastly, all of my favorite nintendo series i like nintendo games most of all! the logos there are games i've been inspired to draw about. there's an awkward space on the upper left tho..... cuz after browsing the list of nintendo series, i realized there was no other one that especially influences me |D maybe splatoon? literally whenever i see a squid kid with a cute hairstyle and outfit im like I WANT A COOL SQUID KID OC TOO!!!!.... but i never act on it lmao
