Description
This was a fun change of pace! There's something so satisfying about something with so many straight lines that's supposed to fit together perfectly. Kind of like the instruction booklets for LEGO sets. This is a simplified schematic of all the components inside a Framework Laptop. It's designed by a recent startup company. They created a fully modular laptop. That means every component can be taken out and replaced much more easily than most other laptops. So if one part breaks, you just replace the one part yourself, rather than having to buy a completely new laptop. It's cheaper in the long run and means less e-waste, and is much more convenient for tech repair shops. I hope it's successful, and I hope more tech products will be designed this way in the future. If I need a replacement computer in the future, I am seriously considering buying one of these.
You can learn more at their website, frame.work , there's also a popular video review of it .
This feels like an ad, lol. Unlikely that I'll do something similar to this anytime soon. But I think this is the most excited I've ever been for a tech product. That I won't need for several years, hopefully... This was a good learning experience too. I understand how computers work a bit better now.
As always, any suggestions or constructive criticism are welcome!
