Description
This beautiful mountain is Yungmaijung, a physical manifestation of the bodhisatva of 'Wisdom' in Tibetan Buddhism. After researching the writings of Joseph Rock, I believe this mountain was the inspiration for Karakul Peak and the valley of Shangri La in the famous book 'Lost Horizon'. It is an area mostly unknown to westerners and the peak was unclimbed as of 2008. I double processed a single RAW image to maintain some detail in the shadows.Related content

I somehow don't think that 647 pixels does this image justice...I'd love to see this as a large print.
Stunning detail, but technical aspects aside, it's just an awe-inspiring picture and I can only imagine at the wonder you must feel in such a place.

I can't imagine anyone climbing that, ever! I really love how the orange cloud seems to be flowing to the left, while the soft movement of the stream seems to be going to the right. It's a lovely contrast.
