Seems like ages since I've done some regular artwork. With my Olympic series tying me up for the past year, it was nice to take a break and get back to this style of art. Creating the gold effect in my Olympic series takes an unbelievable amount of brain power and this style feels like a walk in the park after that (although this did take a number of days to finish). I had tried this concept 3 different times in the past dating back 3 years ago but it wasn't till now that i finally got the right pose. She's a Venus man trap!
With 4 photo shoots in the past two weeks, this image is only the beginning. Stay tuned.

do you try toΒ make your painting exactly like the model or do you alter it somewhat leaving the model to be the base for your painting.

I feel her face needs more curves. It's too static in in cheek bone area. also there should be some skin exposed under jaw/chin. Other than that I like it. Usually I find Dailys somewhat over hyped. I guess take that as a compliment.
