Very cool, but what is your underlying statement here? That we've come so far that we've replaced flesh with iron? It is certainly a valid observation ... and becoming more valid all the time.

No. The original poster was talking about the future "we can do it" while this is one past tense.
So, in the original where she is rolling up her sleeve, she's got something to prove. Here, she proven her worth... having iron in the blood.

Actually I still don't get what's your point. She has proven her worth having iron in the blood you say... but why does (or did) she have iron in the blood? It's not necessarily a good thing metaphorically, we don't understand if you think that's good because she's strong or if it's bad because she's not human anymore. Or something entirely different.

I think you missed the point completely. Women are taken down all the time for not being strong enough. This piece says, "Yes we are~!". Because we have an "iron" will. Us strong women are made of steel c;
