I took a scene from the opening of "Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games" (Vancouver 2010) featuring Mario and Sonic looking quite dynamic together and saw that no one else had done a render of it. So I thought why not me? Plus I thought this pose looked cool. (I might use it for a Deviation later...maybe for a fan-made Mario/Sonic crossover game perhaps?)
