Until she realized that her selflessness was costing her more than she wanted.

Sasha wished to possses her, Marcy wanted to keep them, and King Andrias used them for his own means.

It seemed like everyone around Anne was being greedy and selfish.

So...why shouldn't she be more avaricious than them?

For the unaware regarding the power of the Orange Light of Avarice, its power allows for only one person to wield the light. In order for a wielder to expand the corps, they have to kill their target, and use the ring's power to "steal their identity". Once this process has been completed, the ring can recreate a perfect construct of the individual. The constructs can even retain the personality and memories of the slain victim. So, yeah, let that sink into your head when you see all those constructs around her.

Where most rings hold a charge at 100%, an Orange Power Ring has a 10,000%, and since they are always close to the source of their power, they have nearly endless energy. As OP as this sounds, it has its drawbacks. The user is gripped by an insatiable hunger, eating but never full. And have severe kleptomania, wanting everything and anything they deem desirable, even mundane things.
