Description
~ The Meaning Behind the Painting~In a world of deception, cruelty, hunger and greed there lives innocence, and the evil thrives to corrupt it. Isolating her from the world's wickedness was not enough. She was curious to see what was beyong the world that she lingers in. She breaks away to see the real world, for what it is...is ignorance bliss or is knowledge power?
~ Inspiration~
Adam and Eve, when Eve was tempted and curious to know the meaning of good and evil. She wanted the knowledge of God.
This work took me a month to do. I would go back and forth on it every once a week or so. I left it sitting untouched for several weeks, until last week, I've been going mad scientist on it! Working till 4 in the morning. It went through SEVERAL stages, which I will upload and link later, but I'm happy with what it became now. Believe it or not, it took me 30 minutes to work on the water breaking out, but 2 days to draw the lines on her body. I only used ref for her face, the rest ( including the lighting) was thought up by yours truly ^_^
~ Tools~
Photoshop 7.0 and Painter IX :-D I worked so hard to make her face looking photo realistic by resharping my painting until it was slightly pixalted.

The figure and hair are a bit stiff. The contrast is dramatic, but that's alright, I just can't see the source of light... And why didn't you draw the hand? It looks awkward like that. But the face has improved a lot from your past deviantions, that I see you have erased for some odd reason.
Anyways, keep on practicing!!

what i like about this is you werent afraid to put in a lot of contrast with the darks and lights. i noticed you go really soft on contrast in some previous works. it really adds depth. keep it up

This is a truely nice composition! The arm looks like its a little bit too big and set a bit too far back on the torso. Otherwise though, I really love this!!

I think this came out really well michelle.. plus, I'm a fan of blue.. I just think the textures are really nice and such great detail.. Usually I try to find some element that you could improve upon so that it's not just another compliment.. but I think this work is fine just the way it is..
What, if anything, are you unhappy with in it?

^___^ Her expression is so evocative--she looks sad and yet intrigued at the same time. The lighting is also very nicely done!
The only thing I'd change is her hand. Since the rest of her looks so lifelike, her hand looks sort of flat and undefined by comparison.
Love the picture to bits, though. Nice work once again!

The lightihg and colour is so cool, very powerful.
It looks to me like the hair is a little squeezed in, and maybe the eyes and chin look like they are on 2 separate planes - but those are minor details in an overall stunning piece.
