Alton

Breed: ½ Papillio ½ Azar

Gender: Male

Age (horse years): 17

Family: Mate: Savannah. Son: Pierce. Daughters: Aerynne, Brooke. Granddaughter: Paige.

Distinguishing Features: Butterfly marking on the back of his neck, under his mane.

Personality: Strong, loyal, stubborn, a natural leader.

About Alton: He is a very good leader and will fight to the death to protect his family and the rest of the herd. After Scarlette left the scene Alton and Savannah raised the newborn Pierce alongside Aerynne, and the two of them became as close as any siblings can be. Alton is strong both in mind and body and will go to any length to keep his family from danger. He is half Azar, so he has a strong streak of stubbornness in him – a trait that is often associated with the Azar breed.

Savannah

Breed: Papillio

Gender: Female

Age: (horse years): 17

Family: Mate: Alton. Daughters: Aerynne, Brooke. Granddaughter: Paige. Grandson: Rowan.

Distinguishing Features: Butterfly marking on left shoulder. Braids on either side of her mane which hang down behind her ears. Beauty spot under left eye.

Personality: Sweet and gentle, a loving mother but very overprotective.

About Savannah: Born to Papillio parents, Savannah was raised in the Long Meadow and fell in love with Alton. After Scarlette gave birth to Pierce and fled, Savannah raised the newborn foal as one of her own, despite what the other mares in the herd had to say. Some years later Brooke was born prematurely and Savannah was so overprotective of the little filly that she kept her away from the boisterous Aerynne and Pierce for fear of Brooke getting hurt.
