Just felt like playing with a blue screen, seeing how easy it was in gimp. This was *very* simple:
Make sure your layer has an Alpha Channel. Use the Colour Select tool on 65%, Composite. Click on a mid-blue tone. (Note: the dark blue down the bottom was not selected with this. If you want to select that, you'll have to get picky.) Choose (or create) a large paintbrush, and then erase the selected region. Be careful of bits which have been selected which you do not want to erase (like the reflected blue on his jacket). Select your background, and insert it as a layer. Move the layer to behind your original one, and resize it to suit. Tada, finished product.
