Qotoki. Small squishy squids who could hover through the air as well as swim the seas. Lyre knew them well, some distant part of his memory recalling how his parents would reminisce about the migration that they had met one another during. A part of him wondered why they never decided to get one for a familiar, though that did not matter much now. He had a client in Sedo who was willing to pay top coin for the adorable creatures, despite it not being the season they were easily found. Lyre didn't mind that, so long as they were not migrating it meant they were in more accessible waters rather then travelling through the mainland, he merely needed to find them.

Many weeks of searching the reefs finally paid off as he caught sight of a small handful of qotoki dropping their camouflage to chase prey. The hippocampus didn't immediately spring on them, instead waiting till they exhausted their energy hunting and were slow from a full meal. Finally he gripped his net and thrashed his long mosasaurus tail to propel him toward the swarm, swimming down then trying to spook them upward, away from their inky clouds that they attempted to spray at him as they made a break for it. They had just reached the surface when Lyre burst out of the water and threw part of the net out to tangle up around one of the a blue striped specimen. All around, other members of his crew also breached the waves to chase other qotoki, and those still on the ship tried to throw out nets to capture the creatures who floated by them.
