Selen ain't going anywhere because she's always been canon in some way, shape, or form as I've developed this au.

I've always wanted a "modernizer", and Selenia is just that. She "modernized" the queendom in the essence that she looked at human politics, healthcare, military tactics, ect. Even though Mewni IS pretty impressive in some aspects, one could argue it's just as behind in other areas. As such, Selenia studied countries on Earth that no longer existed, and the issues that caused them to collapse. She also studied countries deemed powerful, and wanted to know what made them so powerful, and why.

She compiled a book, with each chapter being a different category, and having extensive research listed down in that area. This book would become known as the Selenian Encyclopedia. Some of the passages(specifically on spaceships, rockets, and man-made satellites), would even go on to inspire future mother-daughter duo, Starwynne and Helena, who, would not only build the blueprints to make a spaceship (Starwynne), but also fly one and successfully land on the moon Darlene(Helena).

As for terms of personality, Selen was very... nonchalant? She was considered a mysterious queen due to her few genuine connections with people beyond her immediate family. She was considered very threatening by her Mewnisters (though that was not her intent).
