Nice! I love all the different ideas put into this - reminds me of some of Mike Bohatch's work..
Some really good textures here!

Oh thank you. I don't think I've heard or seen of Mike Bohatch, but I will investigate his works.
Sorry for the late reply, I must have overlooked your comment back then.

oh wow i really like this one!
i love the clock in the corner!
seriously the clock must be my fav part of the image... i like its oddly strung strings at all different levels.
i like your dirty images... like they always look rusted.
i like seeing images from you becasue it is like taking a look inside of your head,
a thing i take much curiosity in
the hands look like they are holding some kind of bug thing,
i like it alot

Aaah thank you.
The clock actually is just there to explain the weights hanging on the hands, if you get that.
And the bug thing (wich it isn't) resembles some kind of knight *tips on the dark helmet*, something of pride and honor.
This symbol of pride and honor is supposedly worshipped by this rusty asshole below, but the wrong way; see the fire that doesn't burn in the 'right place'...(left shoulder). The big and un-matching hands symbolise the untrue kind of worshipping.
But hey, this image contains so many different, yet slightly similar themes...imitation, attention whoring, ripping of artwork; in general claiming thrones that aren't their owns. I think you get the clue.
...just to feed your curiosity!

Mmm grunge...
Wow there's a lot of symbolism in there, I can't even begin to get it all. Pretty goddamn obvious time theme Is that a roasted gimp baby (first impression, and then the horns kick in)? Has he been snatched, or held aloft for worship? To me it brings the image of holding up a child so they can see... The holdee is metal rust, contrast to the flesh; it's hands are not... due to contact with blood? Life for life. A change is coming.
I can't quite work out which is being claimed, there's the obvious answer... but depending on the state of play it could be either, or neither if they're part of a wider scheme Cuckoo clocks are always evil
but I'd like to see a little more detail in this one. (That's my only crit
). The background fits the composition perfectly, they ooze together.

I truly love such indepth interpretations....wicked!
I think for this image, ther eis no right or wrong way to interpret it. While I made this, I developed planty of themes that would fit the image, but in some way they are all similar. This time, I'll leave it to the viewer what it shall mean.

You're welcome
I think it's a shame when people can't 'think' about what something might mean. Also the artist's meaning might change over time, in light of realisations and suchlike... there's never a right or wrong way.
Thank you for producing something that made me think.

The colours are all nice and warm and it's funny but from the thumbnail view it sorta looks like a kind of insect standing there for whatever reason, but i guess the colours havesomething sorta insectoid to them too

Fucking awesome, man! I love the crazy hands and the cuckoo clock up in the corner. The background is pretty interesting, too. How'd you do that?

MidnightExigent In reply to xureal [2004-11-16 15:37:32 +0000 UTC]
Thanks bro! The background is actually just an old crumled piece of paper texture, in several layers over each other in different modes, with b/c/s adjustments.
