Description
A dragon sits in the hearthEngulfed by soot and ash
Dancing over sticks and leaves
All it touches crumbles
And yet this dragon is content
The ruler over its fiery land
That is,
Until the serpent comes
The snake, swirling and clear
Rises up in a threatening stance
Its fangs drip with malevolence and sin
And its aim was not one to miss
It sneaks into the dragon’s lair
Turning the blazing fire
Into harmless cinders
As it weakens the Master of the Flame
These two elements, born to collide
Forces of nature, they finally clash
In the ultimate battle
The dragon rears
The serpent strikes
And as quickly as it began
It is over
The dragon, spent, gives up its throne
Turning into smoke
The serpent, felled, though it has quenched the fire
Fades into vapor
And yet still they dispute
As smoke and vapor
Locked in a never-ending battle
Spiteful, even into ruin
So listen child, do not hate
For there is another way
Love, forgive, and pardon your enemies
Succumb not to the darkness
