“It is, and if it were only about her I’d let her do it. The problem comes in that this isn’t about what she wants or deserves. There are far more important things at stake here,” they say and look up at the sky, pausing as if remembering something that hasn’t happened yet.

Michael notices that by this point Ryan has apparently recovered and returned to where we are, though is thankfully being quiet, but is holding his chest meaning he might have bruised more than just his pride from that attack. The Xatu seems completely unconcerned about his reappearance and even turns around and starts walking away.

“If she succeeds then that’s all well and good,” the flying pokemon continues, “but it removes her from the playing board. And that’s the issue. There is something coming, I have seen it. It’s not going to be anything world ending. Even without her in play we’ll eventually win and beat it back, but that’ll take time. If she’s not there everyone in that city she’s unknowingly adopted as her protectorate will die. And hundreds of thousands more beyond that. But if she’s stopped from succeeding at her task she’ll be there when it crosses over and instead of almost a million dead, it’ll only be a few dozen. That’s why I need your help. To save almost a million lives you must make sure she fails.”
