Description
We had an assignment in my online art class where we were create a drawing from a texture rubbing. You will need to find textured surfaces in your environment – wood, cloth, a football, etc. Place a piece of paper over the texture(s) and rub over it with your pencil. Create a new context for the texture by erasing, enclosing shapes and adding lines.
On the left is the original size and the one on the right was a close up.
So the items I used for textures were my fridge for the desert sand, a scale like leather journal for the Yautja/Predator skin, a soccer pin for the 'eye' of the mask, my kitchen counter for the sky, a Egyptian pyramid decor item..thingy...for the rock the Yautja/Predator is standing on, top of a my cable box for the leg guards and my desk for everything else. I honestly had a hard time wanting to do shading and lighting cause I was afraid to lose the textures and even blending the colors was a problem. I had more trouble finding what I would draw to even use the assignment but i wanted to step out of my comfort zone and attempt the texturing assignment. I am proud on how everything came out.
