A response to one of the 8 Facts about Shiloh, seen here fav.me/dc42nhw .So Shiloh has a collection of horse shoes and cat collars, only if they have bells, and he keeps them in a hole at the base of the tree where his father is buried in front of in order to keep the tradition of his father being part of the collecting of things, since his father got him started in collecting.
Shiloh sees them is how his father showed how he vies horseshoes that despite being made of strong metal, they are at first battered,beat up and sometimes they break and fall off or kicked off..to 'Sarge' this represented their life..that they traveled and lived through hardships but what they went through made them strong and even at the weakest times, they are still strong the cat collars is cause that's how 'Sarge' would find Shiloh as a pup,where he was called symbol,. But also represented that even though his mom was gone, her sound was always near..her spirit was like a jingle of a bell. So Shiloh uses that to keep both him mom and dad's spirits with him..
