Description
When I was a child, I thought that Frankenstein was the ultimate monster. He was tall, strong, mostly nonvocal, homely, and prone to destructive anger. As I got older, I saw the monster as a social outcast from a world he never asked to belong to, but which would never accept him. Once in college, I started to appreciate the existential horror of morbidity and aspirations of reanimating the dead. Most recently, trapped in a punishing and grueling work schedule, I can identify with Frankenstein's general demeanor when reanimated every time I awaken far too early for my liking and lumber into action almost on autopilot for most of the morning.
