Sketched with ink pen, scanned, colored in Photoshop CS5.
I haven't been giving him much love recently, so when I was visiting my Grandma today, I decided to sketch him a few times. He's so fun to draw. <3
Here he is in a jounin/war uniform. I forgot the orange swirly things on the shirt though. Oh well. OTL
The kanji in the corner is his name, "Kawaishi Katori", with the characters for 'Kawa' (river), 'Ishi' (rock), and katakana for his first name, 'Ka', 'To', and 'Ri'.

His mum was once a high-ranking Geisha in Amegakure, but she got pregnant with Katori when she was 14-15ish, and so she was kicked out of the ranks and forced into slavery/prostitution. When the boy was 6-8ish, he ran away and an old lady who's last name was Kawaishi adopted him and took him back to Konoha. c:
His father is a mystery, and his mum's pretty much a drugged over, tuberculosis-infected prostitute.

Well then... his father is the cat.
An orange tabby. He's basically the same as a kitsune (japanese version of a selkie, only afox spirit that can change into a human and get married to a humand and have little halfling babies)
He met Tori-kuns mom while she was working as a geishe and promised her everything. A warm den to live in and his love. But she wasn't interested in the world he came from, but she did love him to some extent.
She got preggy but didn't tell the cat spirit and said no to his advances.
She regretted it later on and tried to get him back somehow but couldn't find him she turned to drugs as a way out of reality and back into the world she once knew.
(sorry I'm a fantasy writter couldn't help myself, that actually sounds like the kind of thing that would be in Japanese myth..)
I do like his real backstory though, just the kind of sordid past that most Naruto chacters have.

Actually, I figured since Pein/Nagato & Konan's teammate (his name = major brainfart, I can't remember it) had orange hair, other Amegakure citizens might have orange hair too. So Katori's dad was just a normal person who was probably a high-class guy or something. xD The daimyo's son, perhaps? Idk, I don't want to go too deep into his story, just because it would be a lot of handle. OTL"
It was rumored that his father was the two-tailed cat, but after it was discovered that the jinchuuriki was a woman, that was ruled out. XD Besides, Katori styles his hair that way since his ANBU mask is of a Tiger...so it just kind of fits.

But I was thinking about making a family tree for my characters (because I was thinking about making a pairing and could figure out if they were distantly related or not, which is bad) But I wanted it to look good and uhm... there are some characters that I just don't wan tto mess up with my craptastic drawing skills ya know?
