One of my favorite char. It's late, i will write more about this tomorrow.Muv-Luv, an eroge actually, very gory, tragic, not the usual eroge, this one is great, if u can't stand a very brutal story and very graphic stuff, don't touch it.
Captain Isumi, commander of the 9th Squadron. Omg Max Factory, y u no make more Muv-Luv characters, some side characters are even more interesting and beautiful than the main.
I wanted to paint her for some time, but didn't do it, so i finally did this. Actually wanted to paint her with a yandere-ish expression, combat hypnosis is applied on the battlefield to enhance the pilot, usually used in conjunction with drugs.

To sum up the human race is fighting an OP alien race and getting owned. Almost all battles end in defeat, 90+% of the cast dies, one thing i like is this is a more reasonable depiction of struggle of humans when fighting with technologically advanced race.
Captain Isumi prepared to die. Not the XG-70D cockpit i assume, can't find much reference, so I did a regular TSF cockpit.

Agreed. Β It definitely would be a bigger impact with her dying and giving a farewell speech to everyone before her end then her just living and going about life as usual.

Whoa, nice. I love your colouring style! This was a pretty emotional moment.
Man, Alternative. That game really knows how to make your heart skip a beat. I mean, most of the games from Age (and Phi-age and Mirage) are fantastic at being emotional (except for, like, Age Maniax or Critical Moment Daikuuji), but Alternative just takes your heart and beats it with a blunt object over and over again. No matter how many times I play it, I still cant even get through, without pausing for a while, that scene in the "normal" dimension where Sumika gets squashed, and then later when they're reading her diary. Goodness.

Yeah she's alive in them, but I'm talking about when Takeru goes back to the "normal" dimension in the middle of Alt, after what happens to Marimo, Sumika is forced to end up like her Unl/Alt dimension counterpart (so, I guess in a coma and/or crippled? Not sure how "brain in a tube" translates to what happened to her in the gym.)

I only remember the part she starts forgetting about Takeru, and seriously Marimo's part is brutal, even for someone like me who enjoys guro to a certain degree, so as Alt Sumika. AndΒ now Extra becomes grim dark instead of light hearted...

I like that brutal aspect. Marimo's ch. 7 scene was one of the most surprising scenes in gaming for me back in 2006 (if visual novels can really be called "games"), and was something completely new for the series (heck, crazy stuff happened in Kiminozo, but no one died). It was basically letting us know that we can have no idea what is going to happen (or, in other words, no character except for Takeru is safe, especially since Alt wasn't a harem eroge story, so the female cast isn't technically necessary). It was one of the first games I played where I wasn't sure who would live or die. That was a wonderful experience.
But hey, at least most of the Extra universes were reset (and no matter how much Age wants to say that Altered Fable isn't canon, it does pick up right where Alt left off, so I dont believe them!) And Haruko Maniax is a testament to the continued light-heartedness of the Extra dimensions that weren't reset (so, I assume, the ones where Takeru ended up with Sumika and had that Supplement extended ending).
