As a very young Octoling, Katarina was born with the gift of combat and skills of an assassin, giving her to fight for Noxus. In her mission to fight against Demacia, she encounters Garen, who began their rivalry and a good relationship with each other. Katarina made a mistake of making the Demacian officers fight against unprepared Octarian forces, they fought valiantly but suffering heavy casualties. As Katarina learned this lesson, she fights against the Demacians and won by her insticts as an assassin. The scar left on her face acts as a reminder of how well she fights.

TRIVIA:
- Katarina's design as an Octoling uses the same outfit worn by Splatoon 2 Octolings but without shades and having straighter tentacles.
- Katarina has two siblings: Cassiopeia and Talon. Her last name is du Couteu.
- She had a friendly relationship and rivalry with the Demacian named Garen.
- Katarina uses two types of Daggers: A Regular Dagger (for hand-to-hand combat) and Throwing Daggers (for ranged attacks).
