Mesos was a pseudo-one-off character that we introduced in The Bindings of Fate before giving a promotion in As Darkness Falls. He's a shifty dragon hunter with a pretty cool ability: he produces poison that he channels into his mace. It's a nice little gift that a wyvern gave to him.
